Systems Control Technician - HVAC
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
The Facilities Planning and Management department at Iowa State University seeks applicants for a Systems Control Technician who will apply knowledge and skills to install, maintain, monitor, and repair complex HVAC systems. This position will service and repair malfunctions in various HVAC systems and associated devices and equipment. Responsible for locating problems and deficiencies through system monitoring, reading blueprints and schematics, and by using electronic test equipment.
This position will also review construction plans and specifications of external architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure compliance. The successful candidate will have experience troubleshooting a variety of complex issues relating to building automation and HVAC systems. This position requires the ability to work on a team and communicate with a variety of individuals.
Six years of experience in the electrical and control trade, including apprenticeship or graduation from a two-year resident instrumentation and controls program.
